hey i am a huge H!.P!. Lovecraft fan myself!. well, i would suggest that you just start out with his best stories!. Lovecraft wrote a good amount of stories and some of them are quite horrifying and powerful!. Some of his best stories include The Rats in the Walls, The Colour Out of Space, The Shadow Over Innsmouth, The Call of Cthulhu and The Dunwich Horror!.

Penguin Classics has three volumes on Lovecraft's stories and all the important ones are included and some lesser-known ones!. I think if you want an in-depth knowledge of his work those three volumes by Penguin are the way to go!. Trust me i have them myself!. if just want to buy one i would suggest getting The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories!. Overall, that book is a very good introduction to Lovecraft's work and it includes most of the stories i mentioned earlier!. good luck and pleasant nightmares!.
