sometimes i wanna give up!. i know my stuff is one of a kind!. i swear to u!!.!.!. but then i look over at it and say stuff like "thats not that funny" or "thats not good enough" is this just me!? or are u guys the same way!? Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Whenever I write something, I'm always convinced at first that it's brilliant!. That lasts a day or two!. Keep in mind that an author doesn't so much finish a book as give up on it!. You can keep "improving" your story for the rest of your life, but at some point you have to decide that it's good enough and send it out into the world!. If you want to know whether you're just being too critical of yourself or if your story really has problems, join a writers' group and get the opinions of other writers!. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES show your story to your mom, your spouse, your friends and ask their opinions!. They will be encouraging, but they won't have anything really helpful to say!. As a writer, you should be seeking out people who aren't afraid to tell you if your story sucks, how it sucks, and what you should do to fix it!. It's painful to hear sometimes, but you can't improve without this kind of feedback!. Just a little advice from a fellow struggling writer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Everyone has self-doubts!. Very few people make a very good living at writing, so I hope you are not depending upon writing for your livelihood!. That said, if you want recognition for your work, you have to persevere!. Belonging to a critique group can be very helpful!. If you can't find such a group, maybe you could organize one, perhaps through your local library!. I think my work is pretty good!.!.!.until I want strange people to read it, then I think it's crap and not near good enough!.
