Question: Anyone know a Scary Fairytale!?

anybody know of a fairytale (Grimm Brothers or any other fairytale) that is scary and or creepy!? but not the typical fairy tales like Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Actually a good number of the Disneytales are Grimm's Fairy tales, just with a happy ending!. There are numerous variations of fairy tales that have nasty endings!. If you look up the original translations of some of your favorite you may be surprised!. I think Little Red Riding Hood actually end with the wolf eating the woodcutter as well as little red!. Either that way or the original is more graphic than the version we receive as children!. Plus when I was a kid I thought Fantasia was scary as hell, so I guess its all how you view things!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Compared with todays movies and stories, none of them are thaaat creepy, but the creepiest I found was the Juniper Tree and the Robber Bridegroom!.

"Tithe" by Holly Black (and the whole series after that) are all pretty dark and creepy books about faeries, check those out!. I personally found them a BIT too scary :S lots of obscene language though, watch out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
