Question: Getting someone to look at your writing!. !. !.HOW!?
I need a really GREAT critique of my work!. Someone to read it for me and give HELPFUL feedback on the material!.

But I have no one to do that for me!. Is frustrating! And I don't really want family and friends either!.

Who can you find to do that outside of family and friends!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can pay someone to do it for you, but those services are often rip offs and are shoddy at best!.

Your best bet would be to join an online writing community and search out feedback from the other members!. The only thing you have to really worry about is networking!. It takes time to find someone who will be interested and dedicated enough to stick through longer short stories!.

I've been a member of Writing!.com, Allpoetry!.com, Storywrite!.com, and WEbook!.com!.

Writing!.com has a lot of stipulations on what a free member can do, and the community has gone downhill very quickly in the last few years!. It's almost impossible to get a good critique there!.

Allpoetry and Storywrite are sister sites!. I've had gotten a lot of positive feedback from people here!.

WEbook is a relatively new venture, but I've already gotten several critiques on my work!.

Good luck!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you're still in school, not meaning to make you sound old or anything, you could show it to an English teacher or professor!. They're guaranteed to give you criticism!. Otherwise, you could join a writer's circle!. People in a writer's circle email (or give) each other their work, and however many people are in the circle are the number of people who look at your work, and they all give comments!. We had one at my school, but that was years ago!. You can make one or find one!. If you don't want to go through that much, find someone who, first you're comfortable with, and second, you're sure is serious about writing!.

If you want to do it online, fictionpress!.com is a website where you can post your stories and get feedback!. People make the argument that most of the comments are nonsensical, simple, "i liked it, kthxbai" comments, but you can also get a beta-reader there!. A beta-reader is the same thing as a proofreader!. Most will go in depth with your work and go past just grammar and spelling and such!. I highly recommend beta-readers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can also try absolute write watercooler, they have a section where you can post work for critique and there is a beta reader area!.
