Question: Was Ariana Dumbledore raped!?
I was re-reading the last HP book and I am at the part where Harry,Ron and Hermione go back to Hogsmeade village!. They are rescued from the death eaters by Aberforth Dumbledore and whn they are in his bar looking at the picture of Ariana on the wall they begin to talk about her!. Aberforth mentions that Ariana could do magic and some boys saw her do it!. When she couldnt do it for them, they did something to her!.!.!.but it wasn't mentioned what!. But it says that Ariana's father went after them and harmed them and was sent to Azkaban for it!.!.!.did they just torture her or was it something worse!? Like rape!? someone let me know! I read the book and wasn't sure how to interpret it!. It is worded oddly and if would be quite strange for children's/teen book to refer to a very adult subject so I'm assuming not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I don't think she was raped!. I think she was merely attacked!. It's possible, though, but knowing JKR (not personally or anything, just knowing her other books =P), Ariana probably wasn't raped!.

JK didn't go into detail about what happened to Ariana!. She was very young when the boys who forced her to do magic for them harmed her!. It must have been something pretty traumatic for it to have such an effect on her magical abilities!. I never had the impression that it was rape, though!. I'd always imagined the boys were older than she was and were mean to her, probably teased her or beat her up, called her rude names, etc!. Rape could be a possibility!. I'll have to read that part again!.
Edit: Three Muggle boys attacked her when she was six!. I don't think they raped her, though!. It just seems like they attacked her!.
Carly ~ Please, for the sake of your sanity, be reasonable!. I'm betting you don't know that Ariana was younger than 11 at least (edit: she was six) when that happened, so she could hardly be called a slut!. Any *good* parent would go after someone who harmed their child severely, both physically and emotionally, in order for justice to be served!. That is exactly what her dad did!.
Your beloved Rosalie was ignorant and full of herself!. She was self-centered enough to think that she was the most beautiful person around!. She agreed to marry an idiot and got raped because of it!. It was her own choice!. I'm not saying anyone deserves to be raped, as all rape is horrible, but you can hardly compare the two situations!.

Carly-- You're a hypocrite!. Rosalie was raped, dear!. If you think Ariana's rape is proof of HP's "suckage", then why is the same not true for Twilight!? Same crime, different book!. Don't use double standards!.
I don't know if JKR ever said what exactly happened to Ariana!. I was left with the impression that they beat her up, but rape is also a likely scenario!. Whatever happened, it was bad enough to turn her off of magic forever!.

Carly, you are a bratty little girl who doesn't know what she's taking about!. Rape is a traumatic experience!. It screws with the way you think!. If you were to tell someone who had been raped that they were a "slut", do you know how much worse it would make it for them!? Being raped does not make you a "slut"; it makes you a victim of a horrendous crime!. Any parent would go after the rapist of their child or want justice served!. Ariana was a little 6 year old girl; do you remember being 6 years old!? Would you have gone after someone who was likely twice your age, or would you have been terrified!? And, since it is HP, she would have gotten in a lot of trouble for underage magic!.

EDIT: I am not being hyocritical!. Yes, Rosalie was raped, but she almost died because the almost beat her to death afterward!. She defended herslef in the end!. That dumb Ariana girl had to get her dad to beat them up (weak) and he went to jail, just because his daughter was a slut!.
