Salem's Lot made me afraid of small towns

Gerald's Game made me afraid of !.!.!.hmmupm!. and games!.

Duma Key has made me afraid of West Florida!.
which is sad because I love it there!.

The Stand made me afraid of the Flu!. get my shot every year now!.!.

The Shining /made me afraid of what was on the other side of the door!.!.even if it might be Jack Nicholson!.

I am a big fan of Stephen King's!. The scariest book of his that I've read is "Pet Cemetary" --- YIKES!! I could not read the book at night because it was so vivid and frightening! However, they made a movie (same name), and I was grossly disappointed in it!.

Second scariest book of Stephen's was "It" and again, the movie version was not as good as reading the book and letting your own imagination fly !!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Every Stephen King fan has a different 'scariest book' because they're all scary and magnificent in their own way!.

My personal favourite and 'scariest' would have to be The Shining!. He described the characters, mainly Jack Torrance, with amazing insight and detail, he built up to the climax with lots of suspense and it just scared the sh*t outta me!.

IT!. I couldnt sleep after some bits!.
Desperation!. Very suspenseful and over the top!.
Salem's Lot!. The imagery is well done and you can really connect with the characters' fear
Carrie!. Carrie's mum takes the cake!. Again, great imagery!.

Ones which I havent read, but heard of its 'scariness':
Misery!. Very disturbing!.
Pet Cemetery!. My school librarian was going on and on and on about how horrifying it is

The one book that I had to put down and relax for a bit before resuming was "Dreamcatcher"!. It scared the life out of me! A lot of them are scary and creepy but that one just got me!. My favorite is either "The Stand" or the Dark Tower series!. All of them are great reads except for "Geralds Game"!. I really didn't like it and I have tried to reread it and just can't do it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Shining and The Stand are my two favorite Stephen King books but I have read all of them and I would recommend all of them
