Question: Where can I post short stories to get reviews without risk of others copying it!?
I wrote a short story recently and I would love to post it on the internet and see what others think about it, but I am quite paranoid someone will copy and paste it for their work!. The reason is because I want to enter it into a competition!. My alternative is to let other people at my school read it, but that means passing one story around and is more trouble than I'd like to handle!.

Any answers are helpful!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Once you post something on the internet, it's public forever!. You could try finding some hole-in-the-wall writing forum or some such, but I think your best bet would be to maybe e-mail it to a trusted friend or something!. The internet is never a place to keep something private!.

I do know of a little forum that might help you!. the people are nice and give serious critiques (I've been inactive for a couple years, but I still check it out now and then)

http://forum!.kidswritingclub!.com/index/

(I know the name suggests it's a place for children, but the writing I find there is far from childish)

Then again, now that I've posted the link, everyone will know where it is if you do post it there ^^;

Another option is to go to a teacher, your English teacher most likely, and get them to go over it!. Or if you don't think that's the best person to read your story, ask your friends to see if there is one of those all around awesome teachers that's good for this kind of thing!. Plus, going to a teacher, you're more likely to get a non biased, flat out critique (they're the ones that deal out the grades after all)!.

I'd be happy to help out too!. I love critiquing and editing people's stories, but I suppose you wouldn't feel safe with that which I completely understand!. Still, if you'd like, I'd love to take a look at your story, if you don't mind!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Let your teacher read it or you can always go to a tutor and get advice from a few people!. Go to different Language Art Teachers in your School!. Proffesional Tutors, have them read it!. You know, use your recorces!. DO NOT post it on the internet!. The famous author Stephenie Meyer was about to publish a new book, "Midnight Sun" and one of her editors or somewhere in the process leaked it on the internet without it being published and if you know who she is, she makes millions off of each books she writes!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have written many many stories and I put them on fanfiction, nothing has happened to mine!. Passing around school is great, that is how I got most of my biggest fans!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
