Question: Why do the Harry Potter movies suck so bad!.!.!.!?
I love the books (specifically books 5-7, 1-4 were more childlike and much less dark)!.

But the movies are just horrible!. The storylines are butchered up beyond recognition and the acting is okay at best!. The Daniel Radcliffe Harry seems so much different from the book Harry!. I dunno, you can sorta tell he's just remembering lines from the script!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Horrible only because there is so much detail that a 2 or 2 1/2 hour movie can't fit in!. Especially if they want/need to get all of the main plot points in for the story to make sense!. To help this problem they have already decided that the seventh book will be broken up into two films so that they can keep more in!. This is great for people who want to see the whole story, but sucks because they will be released about 6 months apart from each other!.

Books are almost always better than the movie version mostly because with books, you can know what the character(s) is/are thinking!. That adds a lot!. With acting you maybe have to try to show the emotion on your face, which can be very difficult!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I LOVE the cast from the movies (seriously!. The cast is PERFECT, they are all amazing), but the movies kind of bother me because they aren't like the books!. The first three are pretty good, the fourth is atrocious, and the fifth is decent (it's a shame they had to cut out all of the subplots)!. I can't even watch the fourth because it bothers me so badly-- I can handle the fifth because they stayed fairly true to the main plot of the book, but the fourth movie is just all over the place (and the Quidditch World Cup, which is one of my favorite parts of the entire series, was just NOT up to par for me)!.

It's frustrating to us diehard HP fans that the movies aren't exactly like the books, but the movies, with half of the book cut out, are still 2- 2 1/2 hours long!. They'd be extremely long if they were exactly like the books!. A lot of people who see them don't read the books, so the directors also have to cut things out so it will make sense to them!. I'm really excited for the 6th movie, but I'm nervous too, because I'm afraid they'll butcher it, which would absolutely suck because the 6th is my favorite!.

On the bright side, at least the last movie should be close to the book, since they are splitting it in two!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think the movies suck per se, but I'm not a fan of the 4th and 5th movies!. I think Daniel Radcliffe is sufficient for Harry, but not the best!.

You've got to put this into account: not everyone who watches the Harry Potter movies has read the books!. It may suck for us, who pick apart every detail and want the books and movies to match up!. For those who don't read the books though, the script-writers cannot put certain things in the movies that would probably confuse them!. The HP movie makers prime goal is to make money, and they want the movies to appeal to everyone!. And books are almost always better than the movies!.

I have high expectations (but not too high) for HP6!. I hope it doesn't disappoint!. I'm still VERY angry that they moved the date though >:(Www@QuestionHome@Com

I love the books as well, I could read them again and again!.!.and I have!. Like most everyone else said, movies never really live up to a book in the expectant mind of a devoted reader!.!.!.especially with the Harry Potter movies!. There are so many sub-plots that take place in the book then end up tying together in the end!. The one overlooked piece that really bothered me, among the many others, was in the third movie!. Harry gets the Marauder's Map, created by Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs!.!.!.but in the movie it never explains who they actually are!. Whom, those who have read the book, know to be Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius, and James Potter!. I felt that was something that should have been included, but what do I know!.
I hated the first two movies, they stayed fairly true to the story but since it was just coming out the special effects weren't up to par!. The clips on Hogwart's ground looked very cheaply done, as well as the scene with Harry and the Troll in the girl's bathroom!.
I liked them more from the third movie on, soooo much was cut from the fouth that it felt like it was stumbling around!. The worst part of the fourth movie was the lip licking thing that 'Mad Eye' aka Barty Crouch jr!. did!.!.!.that was terrible!. My absolute favorite scene is the fight at the end of the fifth movie, it just looked great!.
I like how they have progressed into darker films, they better get the sixth right, especially with Dumbledore's death!.!.!.it needs to have an impact!.
About the actors, I don't mind them, but I do know what you mean about the way Daniel Radcliffe delivers his lines at times!.
Wow have a I rambled, but there is my opinionWww@QuestionHome@Com

OF COURSE books are usually better than the movies, but I actually enjoyed watching probably the first four movies!. I could watch each one maybe a second time on dvd but never really a third!. Then it wasn't until the 5th were I could've actually fell asleep in the movie theater!.
I think maybe because the last 3 books are so detailed that it'll take a long movie to make it good!. but they squeeze it all into like 2 hours or so which makes it suck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I actually like the fifth one!. Sure, it does not include certain things, but it gives me chills, and they set up Harry and Ginny some so it won't seemed like a crack pairing!. The good news about the movies is that the 7th is in two parts!. I hope the DVD is released when both parts have already played in theaters!. I would rather get them together than one DVD for part 1 and another for part 2!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think they all suck!. So far, the best one for me was probably the second because it stuck to the book!. The books are so much better!. Maybe it's because they all have different directors!. But I think Radcliffe is a perfect Harry!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You feel like the movies are terribly bad because they are not like your imagination!. The story is short and parts are cut out because the movie makers want to keep the the audience's attentions!.

I personally perfer novels!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The book is almost always better than the movie- another good example was "Master and Commander" - great effects but didn't hold a candle to the Patrick O'Brian novelsWww@QuestionHome@Com

they are all great!.
