OMG, I can't believe you are reading Canterbury tales in 8th grade!.!.!.not because they are "difficult" but rather because they are so very inappropriate for an underaged reader!.
I am guessing the nuns priest tale might be a good choice!. It is an example of the kind of story that fueled anti-semitism in the time of Chaucer!. People did not have very good critical reasoning skills in that era, and stories that were told had the power of fact (hmmm!.!.!.sort of like whatever we see on TV must be true, right!?) Anyway, the nun repeats an outrageous tale about Jews, and she genuinely believes it to be true!. She is a reliable source (a nun) and she is repeating this story that she obviously believes to be true!.!.!.!.(although as a modern reader you can say that of course it isn't actually true)!.!.!.and people were very gullible and if they heard a story like that, they would just take it at face value!. That is how things like witch hunts and pogroms got started!. People were too primitive and poorly educated to second guess or to check for original sources, they just heard a story and repeated it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The millers tale is the best story by far!. It's a 14th century version of Beavis and Butt-headWww@QuestionHome@Com
