Basically, you need to have a good plot and good writing technique!.

I always recommend writing an outline to shape the plot!. Just write down what happens in the story based off of important events!. You can get as detailed as you like, but a basic path of where you're going tends to help!. That way you completely understand your plot, making it easier to describe things!.

In order to improve on descriptions, for example, you need to be able to imagine what does on during a certain scene!. With that in mind, you should pay attention to as many senses as possible!. Learning how to write a description well takes practice!. The more you practice, however, the better your flow of words become!.

When creating characters, you want them to be as realistic as possible!. Try writing descriptions about them!. You should at least have a basic knowledge of what they look like!. How they act is more important to the story!. Are they irrational!? Anxious!? Outgoing!? What made them like that!? Describe their personality -which could take a while, seeing as there are many sides to what makes a person who they are!. There are parts of characters' personalities that people notice, and other things kept hidden!. This is all to help you understand how your character would react in a certain situation*!. Remember though, you as the author need to know more about the characters than will be used in the actual writing!. Write down things that will give you a better picture of who they are!.

*There are certain ways of describing characters that aren't useful, such as calling a character: constantly happy!. That's going to result in a very, very flat character that no one can relate to, thus not believable!. Instead, for a character that is very outgoing, you could say something like: Doesn't let others see when she's hurt!. Tries to act happy all the time to convince herself !.!.!.!. etc!.

Writing well in general takes an understanding of the English language, which means knowing how to use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation!. (Your question was poorly written by the way!.!.!.) If you have trouble with this, or just want to improve, read Elements of Style by Strunk and White!. I found that book very informative!. There are many other books too that you'll find in the library that include tips on writing novels!. You might find some helpful!.

The best way to improve is to write!. Seriously!. I found that it was the best help I could have gotten!. (As well as this though, you might try taking creative writing classes!. I've never done one, but you never know if it might help!.) So write, write, and write!

My tip!.!.!. read Twilight if you haven't already! Meyer is such a good writer it's scary! She's a great story teller and I think that's one of the main reasons everyone loves the Saga!.
For your books, don't fill in a bunch of useless things that don't even go along with the book!. Make everything fit!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
