Yes, it's possible!. In fact, there are publishing companies that specifically state they welcome young authors!.

I have a copy of the 2006 Children's Writer's and Illustrator's Market Guide and in it there is a section (about five pages) that lists companies (books/magazines) that accept manuscripts/promote young writers!. You can find this book in the library - or go to Barnes and Nobles and bring a pen and pencil and copy the information down!.

Let's see, I've got the book in front of me and it says there is a
book called "The Young Writers Guide to Getting Published" but Writers Digest books that has more marketing opportunities!.

Writers Digest website is http://www!.writersdigest!.com/GeneralMenu!.!.!.

A lot of people start with magazines - and it really helps to have something "under your belt" when you want a book published!. The book I have lists The Acorn, American Girl, www!.beyondwords!.com, Child's Life, Chixlit (www!.chixlit!.com), Cicada (14+) at www!.cicadamag!.com, www!.theClaremontReview!.com, www!.prufrock!.com, http://members!.tripod!.com/creativewithwo!.!.!. www!.freespirit!.com, www!.greenknees!.com, Highlights for Children, www!.insightmagazine!.com, Kwil Kids Publishing, www!.merlynspen!.org, www!.newmoon!.org, The Shepherd, www!.skippingstones!.org, Spring Tides, Stone Soup, www!.teenvoices!.com (ONLY accepts teens), What If!? (Canada), The Writer's Slate (www!.writingconference!.com)

Well, that's what's listed in the book I have so it's a start for you!. It's old and the publishing industry changes a lot but maybe you can browse around!. I highly recommend The Writer's Market or the Children's Writer's Market or whatever genre you're going into!. I got my copy on ebay!. Actually, I have two, and I can send you an older one if you want!. But let me double check on that!.

Here I did a search at Writers Digest:

Definitely visit these:

http://www!.writersdigest!.com/101BestSite!.!.!.

Here's a bunch of leads:

And here's a link to the Young Writer's Society: (13-25)
http://www!.youngwriterssociety!.com/

There's no law that says you have to tell someone your age when you send in a book query or manuscript!.

My daughter and I (she's 8) just read a book called School Story (you may have read it) but it was really cool about two twelve year olds who got one of their books published!. (Of course their mom was in publishing!.!.!.) but the book gives a really nice insight into the realities of publishing!. You should definitely read it if you haven't already!.

Age doesn't matter as much as content!.!.!.If you can write!.!.keep stopping and don't let anyone stop you! Make sure you set aside time to write!. If you want to be a writer - you must write!. Write every day!. The more you write the better you get!. And read everything you can on writing!. There is sooo much out there!. I read a good book called "Word Painting" by Rebecca someone!.!.and one called Writing Nonfiction that is from writer's digest conference or something and it is extremely helpful!. also go to the library and read Writers Digest and Writers Market magazines!.

Good luck to you!

Possible, but HIGHLY unlikely!. There is a chance of getting published, but only if your writing is brilliant and your story is marketable!. Realistically, you probably aren't going to get published at 13!. It just doesn't happen for most teenagers!. Christopher Paolini only managed to get published because his parents owned the publishing company, and Paolini isn't exactly the paragon of good writing!.

Instead of worrying about publishing *now*, I would worry about improvement!. Read anything you can get a hold of, write like there's no tomorrow, take lots of writing and English classes at school, improve your vocabulary, etc!. Practice, practice, practice!. There's plenty of time to publish later!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, it's possible!. Agents, editors, and publishers don't look at the age of the writer when they decide to accept it or not, but they do look at the quality of the work!. If you submit a solid manuscript then it doesn't matter how old you are!. Let your work speak for itself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can!. It's possible, but it's unlikely, seeing as when you're 13, your style will still be developing and you probably won't write as well as you will five, four, even three years from now!.

Don't take Paolini as a creditable example!. Just don't!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think its possible!.!.!. remember its all about the money!.!.!.!. maybe a publish company might promote it that a very young author wrote it and stuff!.!. that would get peoples attention and stuff and make the book sell and stuff!.!.!.!.

but like witheverything!. its takes hard work!.!.!.!. what is ur book about!?!?!?!? just dont give up and keep trying and trying if thats ur true dream/goalWww@QuestionHome@Com

Christopher Paolini did it when he was 16, it just has to be really good!. Go to a site called tikatok!.com where you can write a book and get it printed for 20 bucks!. Its not publishing but at least your getting somewhere!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think anything is possible!.

If the book is well written and there is a market for it, I'm sure it could be published!.

I don't think it's very common, though!.

Christopher Paolini, the author of the Inheritance series (i!.e!. "Eragon", "Eldest", etc!.) got his first book published when he was about 15, I think!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes of course, the publisher only cares about quality not age!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well there is the author that wrote the Eragon Series at a young ageWww@QuestionHome@Com
