Question: In of mice and men!.!.!?
What is the importance of Lenny and George's plan to get their own place and "Live off the fatta the land"!? Why is keeping rabbits (usully considered prey) the ultimate symbol of this!? please don't spoil the book!. thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
the importance of lenny and george wanting to live off the land is that it was 'the american dream' and the era around which the book was written was full of people looking to gain money and moving away to be more self sufficient and happy (though this was rarely achieved those days,, i portreys how much american workers desired the freedom!.) !. lenny wants to keep rabbits because it demonstrates his kindness and simplicity, which is completely opposite his physical nature!. the fact that the book originally states he likes soft things when he pets mice is another reason he may want rabbits so badly!. and the times george brings up the rabbits is also used as an incentive to keep lenny in good behavior!.

hope this helps!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
