Question: Book recommendations (classics, historical romance)!?
Anyone have any suggestions for my next read!? I love romance novels (and no, I don't mean the ones with Fabio on the cover!)!. I might also like to read a more well-known, classic novel!. You know, Catcher in the Rye, Moby Dick (but I've already read those!)!.

Anyone read a great book lately!? :) 10 points for the most informative answer!

Thanks in advance,

ill try and list some of the classics that ive read and really enjoyed :)

jane eyre by charlotte bronte - greatest romance of all time! (or at least in my opinion XD) but really, its a wonderfully written romance about a plain but intellectual governess (named jane eyre of course) and her pupil's arrogant rich guardian, Rochester!. there's a lot of drama in this novel, but great if you like the classic romances!.

wuthering heights by emily bronte (sisters! :) - another great romance, although i actually enjoyed jane eyre more!. this tells the story of a forbidden love between 2 people from completely different social classes, heathcliff and catherine!. wuthering heights is mainly about how their love is doomed, but there's also the events after their love, when the past is sort of able to come to terms with itself!. also lots of drama (actually, pretty much all of these novels have a lot of drama, so ill just stop repeating that!.!.!.)

a tale of two cities by charles dickens - could be considered a historical novel, i guess, since it takes place during the french revolution and i did learn a lot about it by the time i finished the book!. like pretty much everything else by dickens, huge cast of characters that are all dizzingly interconnected, although it may not seem like it at first!. this novel was very moving and the plot was very well thought out!.

the count of monte cristo by alexandre dumas - takes place around the time of napoleon, which is important to the story!. the main storyline is about a good man, edmond dantes, who is leading a happy and reasonably comfortable life until he is betrayed by a group of people who conspire against him for their own individual selfish needs!. edmond is then trapped in a prison for a long time, but eventually escapes as a completely different man and takes his revenge on the conspirators!. very gripping story all the way to the end!.

great expectations by charles dickens (again!) - i think i liked a tale of two cities slightly better, but this one was great as well!. once again, lots of characters, the main one being a boy named pip who wants to win the heart of the high-class -girl he falls in love with, estella, even though she is horrible to him!. hard to give a good summary for this what with all the plot twists, but try it yourself and see how you like it :)

a streetcar named desire by tennessee williams - a quick read, since its a play, but i thought it might be refreshing after reading some of the larger books i recommended!. tells the story of stella, her violent husband stanley, and her sister who comes to stay with them, blanche!. blanche and stanley clash immediately, as they are complete opposites in terms of personality!.

hope that list helps :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Most titles by Alexander Dumas are excellent novels with derring-do and romance!.

Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott

She by H!.Rider Haggard
Ayesha: The Return of She by Haggard are cool stories of lost worlds and eternal love!.
