Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Something realistic, I mean "Hot guy luvs average girl zoomgOMG!1one" no thanks!.!.!. it's too cliché and boring, Vampire Kisses, Vampire Diaries, Twilight, all is the same!. Don't make the characters PERFECT, perfect characters are Mary Sues!. I need characters with personality, with likes and dislikes, fears and all that ****!. A good plot is important, twists in the story are good too!. PLEASE do research!. Don't kill vampire's mythology!. And remember, vampires are evil that's what is hot about them!. They are not good vegetarian human begins, that's bullshit!. Make them evil, make them dark!. They are not pretty fairies!. Www@QuestionHome@Com I agree pretty much 100% with Smut's answer!. Although I'm willing to suspend my disbelief if it's written well enough, I've never understood why all these 100+ year old vampires seem to fall in love with young mortal women!. If it's because of her fresh-faced innocence and naivete, well, that's frankly kind of creepy, and I'd like to see somebody acknowledge that for once, instead of treating it like it's totally normal and OMG so romantic! for a guy to fall in love with a girl young enough to be his great-great granddaughter!. If it's because of "destiny," I shall be forced to vomit!. But do it realistically and with some complexity and moral ambiguity (on both sides), and I'll be hooked!. also, be careful to avoid Mary Sues (either the girl or the vampire) and don't trash vampire mythology!. Oh, and consider making the girl the ancient vampire and the guy the young, innocent mortal, just because that hasn't already been done to death!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It is extremely difficult to balance a book such as this, but I typically look for: realistic situations and places a sense of longing characters I can relate to unsustainable romance self-denial a struggle between life & death (the vampire-able to live forever & the inevitable death of the mortal) Www@QuestionHome@Com lets see what do I look for humm!.!.!. well I have read the Twilight seires and the Vampire diaries!. well its Vampires so there need for atleast a little bit of action no mushy stuff all the way through the book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Plot, good characters and a relationship with substance!.
