This is such a hard question, because my favorite book depends on my mood and so many other things!.

As far as comfort books go, my two favorite books are A Civil Campaign by Lois McMaster Bujold, and Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie!.

ACC is just hilarious science fiction about a man courting a woman, but it also includes genetically altered politics, political wrangling, finding love after marrying a jerk, a kid who finds his own power, butterbugs, and so much more!. This book made me laugh so much -- but it was more than just a comedy!. It was a comedy of biology and manners, like the book blurb said!.

Bet Me also made me laugh -- it's about putting the odds on romance, and surrendering to the "fairy tale!." Just hilarious!. "Faking It" by the same author is also ROFL funny, and tackles forgery and various forms of faking life and art, as well as romance!.

Pride and Prejudice is also worth re-reading!. Don Quixote!. The Life of Pi!. I could go on for lines and lines!. Really depends on what you like, I think!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Black Magician Trilogy << awesome and the next trilogy leading off from it is in writing at the moment

Phillip Pullman His Dark Materials is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!

Malorie Blackman, Noughts and Crosses, Knife Edge and Checkmate are fantastic books!. Very emotionally written!

Marco's Pendulum and Marco and the Blade of Night are good books!.

Karen Rose is a good author if you like crime but it has some explicit sex scenes in them lol!.

The 10th Kingdom by Kathryn Wesly is a fabulous book!

Utopia by Lincoln Child << a bit slow to get in to but fantastic once you have!.

I like a lot of books, but I'd have to say "Frankenstein" is my favorite!. I enjoy the story and writing style!. Its also quite thought provoking and reminds me of the dangers of becoming so obcessed with my work that I lose sight of whats important in life!. If you're looking for a good book, I'd recommend reading one of the classics!. Usually they're classics for a reason!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley is on my top 3 list of favorite books!. I LOVE it because it has a woman as the main character!. It is refreshing to have a heroine as opposed to a male hero!. That's what separates it from other books!.

My favorite classic however is Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte!. Gothic romance is what I like to read the best!. It is a great story, not just about love, but how human nature can be twisted when our lives are changed by a tragic event!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Fantasy:
The Sevenwaters trilogy - Juliet Marillier
His Dark Materials - Phillip Pullman
Witches of Eileanan - Kate Forsyth
Antyhing by Tamora Pierce (she's very basic, good for pre-teens etc, but i still love her stuff)!.

Other:
Reading Lolita in Tehran - sooo good, very easy to read
Remains of a day - can't remember the author, its a bit boring to get into, but i thought it was quite good
One flew over the cuckoos nest - loved this!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Stephanie Plum numbered novels by Janet Evanovich!. (very funny)
"The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" by David Wroblewski
