Please, please, please tell me there are more people who are against this series!.!.!. It's very generic and Bella, as a female main character, is just pathetic!. It's also very badly written!. My poor friends who are teachers now have to deal with book reports and stories filled with young, hip, lovesick vampires!. Worse than when everyone was doing Harry Potter, because at least with Harry Potter, there are deep themes, good writing and vocabulary!.

I don't know if it's worthy of true hatred, because in order to really hate something, you have to have some kind of invested emotions!. I really just see it as an annoyance, like a pop singer that will be gone soon but will be hard to avoid until something better comes along!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are tons of people against the series!. There is a near-war going on in the B&A section, and it's time we wrapped it up!.
I am neutral!. I know that there are both negative and positive aspects to the series!. Bella is, in fact, quite generic!. If SMeyer had developed her characters with more depth (Bella is what is commonly known as "cardboard"), then the books would be quite different (meaning "better")!. The writing bothers me because it is being presented as the epitome of good writing to thousands upon thousands of impressionable teenagers, though it is not!. This is wrong!. On the other hand, the catchy story line gets people reading, which makes me happy!. I am not bought over!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Bella is an interesting character, to say the least, but as a main character!.!.!.eh!. I could see her more as a comic-relief supporting character!. She's just SO over-dramatic and a big crybaby!.

I do agree that the plot goes downhill after the first book!. I mean, Bella just acts pathetically in New Moon, she's the center of attention all over again in Eclipse, and the whole point of the series (the forbidden love between a vampire and a human) is screwed over in Breaking Dawn!. Oh, and the thing where everyone lives happily ever after (literally, because Bella's new family - Edward, Jacob, and her daughter - is immortal)!? SAPPY!. It makes me want to puke!.!.!.

I don't blame Stephenie Meyer entirely, though!. She just caved into the pressure of her screaming fangirls and wrote the ending that way!. She has admitted that one of her possible endings was that the final battle in Breaking Dawn ACTUALLY HAPPENS and that lots of people die (is it me or am I somehow sadistic and angsty sometimes!?)!. Then again, even that battle would've been full of overexaggerated sorrow and mushy crap!.

I enjoyed the first book, though!. =] Although there are some faults, I can say it's the best book out of the entire series!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I read Twilight when it first came out in 2006!. I fell in love with the characters, especially Mike Newton!. I lvoed meeting the different people and settings and this new way or life soem people lived!. But when New Moon came out I started havign ym second thoguhs!. and by Eclipse I was completely turned off!.

These whiny teenagers were SO annoying, both Bella and Jacob NEEDED to get over themselves and grow up!. They were big babies and Edward was pretty much considered the bad guy the entire book!. And Breaking Dawn!? Gimme a break, the series had become apathetic sell out building up to a fight that didn't even happen! AND we were forst to sit through 200 pages of Jacob Black's pathetic moaning and whining!.

Twilight twas full of magic!. Now it's just for teenage girls who can't get a date and are forced to fantasize about imaginary 108 year old men!.

A book I would definitely recommended if you want to find a new world to get lost in:

I'm a big fan of vampire romance/action novels/movies and I'm halfway through Twilight!. It's very disappointing :[ I agree with you that the book is too hyped up and I can't seem to be able to read more than 2-3 chapters at a time or else I get too bored!. I'm gonna first finish the book and decide whether I should continue!.

I HATE IT!! Here's why: I live near Forks, Washington!. All year long, thousands of people have been coming here to celebrate the books and see where this or that happened!. Don't these people know that nothing that happens in the books REALLY happened in Forks!?!?
