Pattie got the right of it!.

Wickham is drowning in gambling debts and can't really find a way out of his predicament!. Then Darcy comes along and offers to make it all go away as long as he does right by Lydia and marries her to make her somewhat respectable (as respectable as a woman can be having eloped and lost her virtue)!. Because no better alternative has shown itself, he figures it's the best he can do at the time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

check sparknotes, or cliffsnotes!.

um i read that, and basically he married her because after he ran away with her he like had to!. and he only married her because he got the $ from darcy to pay like all his debts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
