Question: Would you consider this "nerdy"!?

For Language Arts in school, we have a thing called a "reader's log"!. We have to log reading at least 6 hours in two weeks!. There are 17 entry spaces!. In four days, I have read 14 hours, more than double what we are required for two weeks!. But I have lots of books I want to read, so I had to print off an extra log!. 14 HOURS! That doesn't say much of my social life, but that's always been me!.!.!.Am I doomed to be a nerd!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you're being a little over-dramatic here!. I'd say it's more nerdy to spend 14 hours on video games than on reading!. I'd say maybe you're smart, but not nerdy!. It is such a stereotype, and not a truth, that nerds enjoy reading!. A larger percent of the population enjoys reading than you believe!.!.!. it's not that uncommon or uncool!.!.!. just a lot of grade school students don't enjoy reading, so you're one of the lucky ones who actually realized that it's fun!.

No! Good job! Don't forget, "nerds" are usually successful and make a lot of money when they get out of school! My husband tells me I am a nerd because I love Science and Art!. I was an athlete and even a youth soccer coach growing up so I don't see where he gets that from, but anyways I'm getting ready to apply for Med School!.!.!. so I guess it pays to be a nerd!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah, reading that much is pretty nerdy, but from my experience people really don't judge people on nerdiness unless they don't do anything except read!.!.!. if you still can keep up an active social life then it makes you more insightful and interesting :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nothings wrong with being nerdy, but being a show off is bad!. Just fill up the hours your need on your log, and leave it at that!. Any extra reading you do, keep it to yourself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
