Question: Classic Novels for a (14) year-old teenager!?
Over the summer I didn't read any books and when my world lit!. teacher asked me if I read any books over the summer, I lied and said 2!. Now i feel guilty that I should read some great novels!. Like What!? I'm not a super-genius so don't lost any classics that have hard words!. BTW I read Lord of the Flies last year (my favorite book)
MQ: Do you like books turned into movies!. best one!? worst one!? Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
"The Picture of Dorian Gray"
"1984"
"Animal Farm"
"Pygmalion"
"Alas, Babylon"
"Brave New World"
"The Great Gatsby"
"To Kill a Mockingbird"
Those are all really easy reads!. You would definitely enjoy them!. Plus they'll help if you ever plan on taking the AP test!.
I don't really like books turned into movies, but the best one is Pride and Prejudice - The A&E version with Colin Firth because it follows the true storyline so closely!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Well, some really good ones have been mentioned, but I would also recommend Catcher In The Rye by J!.D!. Salinger!. It's a very good book and the language is relatively basic on the most part [from what I recall anyway, haha], and it also isn't that long so you can read it quite quickly!
So if you were to go for two books, I'd choose that and To Kill A Mockingbird [which is also easy to read but it a good bit longer]!.
If all else fails and your teacher is badgering you, look up summaries for two books and pretend you've read them! Hahaha
Ok, good luck! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
I was 14 this summer and I read Gone With the Wind and East of Eden and now the Twilight Saga!. All very good books!. On line there are a lot of essays you can read them atnd tell your teacher about the books you "read"!.
I don't really like book that are turned into movies cause the books are always better and in the movie they mess up the sequence!.
Hope this helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com

(All of these are by Edgar Allan Poe, btw!. Very famous classics)
"The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson

For classic NOVELS:

"Watership Down"
"Little Women"
"20000 Leagues Under the Sea"

'Three Men in a Boat' ~ Jerome K!. Jerome {and its sequel}
'Jamaica Inn' ~ Daphne Du Maurier
'The Complete Sherlock Holmes' ~ Arthur Conan Doyle
Not 'classic', but very good :~
'The Crow Road' ~ Iain Banks
'The Bloody Chamber' ~ Angela Carter
The 'Thursday Next' series ~ Jasper FfordeWww@QuestionHome@Com
