I started the Harry Potter series when I was 11!. I suggest you should let him read that if it isn't too advanced for him!. If you want to have him read something a bit less challenging, but just as exciting, I suggest you should give him one of those Junior Fantasy Series to get him hooked and keep him hooked ^ ^

Some that I know of on the top of my mind:
1!.Knights of the Silver Dragon (good fantasy series)
2!.Deltora Quest (kinda old, but good nonetheless)
3!.The Dragonlance Chronicles (great series, almost 50 books based on one storyline)
4!.The Spiderwick Chrinicles (4 books long, but a great story)

I hope you find your little bro a good book to read!
