Question: Editing My book before Publishing!.!.!.Tips!?
I'm in eighth grade and wrote a book that I want people from ages 10-16 to read!. It's about wizards and magic (ha ha)!. But it's not supposed to be like a children's book!. When I go back to edit it, what should I put in/take out!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Editing involves a lot more than putting in/taking out processes!. Often times it requires the complete re-writing of the novel!. Authors will go through many copies before reaching their "final daft" and even when it's at that final stage it still needs work!.

A good technique is to put your book away for a couple weeks!. Then come back to it with fresh eyes!. It's also good to get an outsider you know to read it and give their opinion/criticism on it!.

Writing the book is the easy part!. Editing it and publishing it are the hard parts!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
