Question: How Do I Make Good Music (Game-Style/Orchestral/Classic…
I would love to have some tips on making good, memorable music (Like Nobuo Uematsu's Stuff on the FF Series) I am only 13 and I can learn :-) I have FL Studio

If anyone can recommend some good tips or soundfont sites - they will get Best Answer :D

BTW I have a newgrounds audio account and have a few tunes made on FL, but most are recorded!.

Thankyou! :-)

Short answer: compose, compose, and keep composing!. Very few great composers in history started out writing briliantly (Mozart)!. Most, worked and suffered and threw away a lot of material (Beethoven)!.

Long answer: Write what you know!. Copy the masters you like!. Then, change it!. "Improve" it, make it your own!. NEVER be afraid of criticism!. Show your work to people who know music, know the industry!. also, show it to your friends!. Listen to what they say, good and bad, and consider the value of each comment!. NEVER dismiss anything said, good or bad!.
You should consider a formal education of some kind in music theory so you can learn rules!. If you were a jazz musician, rules might be useless, but since you want to do orchestral, knowing the instrument (even if they are synthesized) is essential!. This means, you need to know orchestration!.
Above all, listen, listen, and listen more!. I teach composition students to listen to as much music as they can!. Listen to things that excite you and 'work' for you and figure out why/what!. Then, listen to things that don't work for you, that annoy you, or that you hate, and figure out why!. So from both sides, write music that feeds your loves, and starves your hates, and the music will become you!. Too vanilla!? Put in some of that hate and see how you can resolve it!.

Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
