I have a project in my Writer's Craft class where I have to write a short story!. I've been thinking for the past couple of days of what I could possibly like but I just can't come up with anything interesting to me!! A nice simple but original + unique story is what I want to write!. Nothing too complex with multiple conflicts though, thanks!.

It is how you develop the story that counts!. That said, here are some techniques you can use to get your creative juices flowing: 1!. Play the What If Game This can be applied to any situation!. Look out your window!. What do you see!? Is there a man coming home from work!? What if he's actually a secret agent and he and his family are not really the neighbors you thought they were!? 2!. Steal a Plot!. Really Shakespeare did it!. Not the whole plot intact, of course!. You would need to change the characters and the settings but the main plot would still be there!. West Side Story is a version of Romeo and Juliet Clueless is a version of Emma 3!. Explosive Ending Think of an ending for your story!. Something mind boggling and work towards that!. 4!. Write an Opening Line Think of a line that would catch YOUR attention!. It does not matter what the story is at this point!. Just write something!. Once you have that, work around it to create your story!. One of the most interesting opening lines I've read was: "The corpse's left eye winked at me!." (You can't use that, it's copyrighted) 5!. Random Words Pick a few random words from a dictionary!. Combine several until you come up with an intriguing title!. Work with that!. What are you passionate about, what do you love, perhaps music, maybe art, theater, who knows!. You said you wanted to write a unique story, only you can write the story you think is unique!. Everyone has their own thought of what is unique!. So only YOU can find that out!. Having people here give you ideas is not a good idea anyways, You should be doing this project, not others!. It is not others grade, it is yours!. You may not like my answer, but it is true!. Just think harder, if anyone else can do it, so can you!. Anyways a story always sounds better when it comes from the one's soul/heart!. It just does!. Good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com You could write about a guy in the 20s, who is an undercover cop that searches for speak-easies !.Maybe he gets emotionally attached to the people he constantly sees there, after getting to know them and listen to them spill their hearts out over booze!. I know it's random, but I was just reading about the prohibition!. If that doesn't sound good, I suggest you go on either fictionpress!.com or deviantart!.com, read some short stories!. You will get inspired and will find a great story idea, I'm sure (but note that I'm telling you not to plagiarize, ok!? Just read for inspiration!.) Good luck on your story!
