Looking for the title of a short story about a girl who waits for the sun but do

Question: Looking for the title of a short story about a girl who waits for the sun but does't see it and she dies!?

The story I am looking for I read 20 years ago!. It is about a girl on a planet other then earth (I think mars) and she needs to see the sun in order to survive but the sun only comes one a year!. So she waits all year for the sun and then when it finally comes she is unable to see it because other kids her age prevented her from seeing it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
