It is set in a later period than 'Little Women', it was published in 1912, but it is a delightful book, and gives a wonderfully vivid impression of what life was like in a girls college at the turn of the last century!. The book is told in the form of the letters that Judy writes to her anonymous benefactor, and it really is a lovely book!. 'Anne of Green Gables' by L!.M!. Montgomery is another book you might like!. Again the heroine is an orphan, and she is adopted by an elderly brother and sister who actually wanted a boy to help on their farm, and at first are dismayed to get a girl!.
