Well basically she can make some one think of some thing that can kill them with out touching them!. She does it with her mind, that is why Bella isn't effected by it!. I was confused too but, they explain it in Breaking Dawn a little better!.

she can make people think of bad memories but it like increases the pain of the memory so it hurts even more!. Edward, for example, the memory that Edward had was when he lost Bella!. But Bella isn't affected because when people use the mind to affect bella is doesn't work!. For example, Edward can't read bella's mind!. Alice can tell bella's future because she can see big events that happen and bella is part of them, she doesn't read her mind!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Jane can pretty much "burn" people with her mind, She doesn't actually harm them, just causes them to imagine the intense pain inside their heads, which is why, like Edward, her power is useless on Bella!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
