You may be interested in some of the novels by Joel C!. Rosenberg!. His books include: The Last Jihad, The Last Days, The Ezekiel Option, The Copper Scroll and Dead Heat!.

Another author whose books you may find of interest is Vince Flynn!. His first novel, Term Limits, was really good, but not precisely what you want!. His Mitch Rapp (protagonist) books might fit!. These books include: Transfer of Power, The Third Option, Separation of Power, Executive Power, Memorial Day, Consent to Kill, Act of Treason, Protect and Defend and Extreme Measures (which is coming out in October)!.

Though I haven't read these authors' works yet, I have heard that the following authors also deal with aspects of terrorism in their thrillers:

Daniel Silva
Lee Child
Nelson DeMille
