Okay, so Edward resembled his dad, but had his mother's eyes, which were green!.!.!. Billy's friend was Harry Clearwater!.!.!. Harry from Harry Potter!.!.!. Clearwater as in Penelope Clearwater!. Bella gave Edward a "Basilisk Stare," though I am aware that Basilisks were heard of before Harry Potter!. Mere coincidence!? I'm a little obsessed with Harry Potter, but this still made me mad!.

Yes, Stephenie Meyer does want to be like J!.K!. Rowling!. Another example, Stephenie said that her last book should be made into 2 movies!. I wonder why!? Harry is just a really common name (and it's getting trendy again)!. Clearwater would be a good choice for a Native American name!. Some Indian last names are things like Little Deer, Running Water, etc!. The expression to give someone a basilisk stare means to give them a look that will turn them to stone!. A basilisk is a giant serpent!. It's kind of an old-fashioned expression, but you'll see it in lots of books (especially older ones), and people do occasionally say it, too!. I really think Stephenie Meyer didn't consider the Harry Potter books at all for inspiration!. Thats why i don't understand when people compare the two books to eachother!. Mostly people compare the two books because someone made a statement comparing stephenie meyer to be the next J!. K!. Serioously, though, I don't think these are more than co-incidence!. You can probably find tiny similarities like these between any two books in the English language if you looked closely enough!.
