FYI It is not "The Hamlet!." Call it "Hamlet" or "The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark!."

Basically, Hamlet is the prince and heir of Denmark when his father, the King, dies!. Very soon after the King's death, Hamlet's uncle, Claudius, marries Hamlet's mother, Queen Gertrude; this makes Claudius the new King--which is scandalous because Hamlet should have been the King upon the death of his father AND because it's more than slightly inappropriate that Claudius marries his sister-in-law directly after the King's death!.

Hamlet is very depressed and passive agressive towards his mother and uncle/step father!.

The dead King's ghost appears to Hamlet and tells him that Claudius killed him (the King) and asks Hamlet to avenge his death!.

Hamlet has a girlfriend, Ophelia, who is not a princess!.

Hamlet is very upset over what he learns from his father's ghost, so he decides to act like a lunatic and basically come after his step father like a spider monkey!. He starts saying crazy things to everyone and people think he's lost his marbles!. He is mean to Ophelia and his mother!. Hamlet accidently kills Polonius, Ophelia's father!.

Ophelia kills herself!.

Claudius decides to kill Hamlet to secure his (Claudius') power!. Hamlet and Claudius decide to have a fencing match!. Claudius secretly poisons his blade, and Claudius also poison's Hamlet's drink!.

The Queen takes a swig from Hamlet's cup and dies!. Hamlet is pierced by Claudius' poison blade before Hamlet stabbs Claudius to death and dies himself!.

King Fortinbras (from another country) comes in and sees all the death royalty and decides to take over!.

It's called Hamlet, not 'the hamlet'!.

Essentially, Hamlet is Prince of Denmark!. His father, the king, was murdered by his uncle, who has taken the throne and married his mother!.

Hamlet sets out to prove that his uncle was responsible for his father's death!. Along the way, he murders the father of his friend, which leads to the ending, where they fight a duel, killing each other and also Hamley's uncle and mother!.

Two officers of the king, Marcellus and Bernardo beckon Hamlet's friend, Horatio, and later Hamlet himself to see the late King Hamlet's ghost appear at midnight!. Privately, the ghost tells Hamlet that Claudius really did kill him by pouring poison into his ear while he was sleeping!. Hamlet gets angry and devises a plan to revenge against Claudius!.
Hamlet is so furious, he acts like a lunatic so Claudius, Gertrude, and Polonius send Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to spy on Hamlet to

The gaurds in the begining of the play are frieghtened becuz they think a phantom is among them!.!.!. hamlet finds out and stays to check it out!.!.!. the ghost turn out to be his dead father(hamlet senior king) and tells hamlet to avenge him!.!.!. to kill the one who upposably was a friend the kings brother claudios!.!.!. the new king remarried gertrude the old kings wife!.!.!. hamlet doesn't like this!.!.!. he calls it incest!.!.!.!. on the side there is ophelia she and hamlet are together!.!.!.!.her father polonios is nosy and when hamlet tries to kill the king he confuses polonious for the king and kills him!.!.!. ophelias brother( his name i forgot) wantes revenge when he hears this!.!.!.!. hamlet meanwhile is going mad and makes a play that tells the king he knows!.!.!.!. meanwhile fortinbras another kingdon guy wants to kill hamlet 2!.!.!.!. ophelia comits suicide because hamlet mistreats her and was being wierd!.!.!.!.!. when there is a batlle match between laertes(ophelia brother and hamlet) the king sees this as a way to kill hamlet with poison!.!.!. but gertrude by mistake drinks it she dies!.!.!.!. hamlet forces drink down kings throat!.!.!. he dies!.!.!. alertes dies in match!.!.!.!.!. so does hamlet!.!.!.!. its a hamlet ending!.!.!.!. everyone dies but fortinbras!.!.!.!.!.
