Hi Simo

Start on the top right of the page with the address you're writing from followed by the date!. This forum won't let me write on the right, but it looks like this, but make sure it's on the right:

10 Downing Street
Westminster
London
W1A 1AA
15th September 2008

Now go back over to the other side of the page, and start by addressing your friend:

Dear Jenny,

What you write next is up to you, but it's a good idea to refer to the last time you spoke, things that have happened since, and ask some questions about her!. Finish with a suggestion of how you'll next be in touch!. Here's an example:

Dear Jenny,

It seems like years since we last spoke, although it's only been a few months!. I hope everything's going well for you in Beijing!. John tells me it's very hot there at this time of year; I hope you're coping!. Does your office have air conditioning!? I've been working hard on my latest painting!. It's inspired by the river we used to sit by last spring!. Do you remember when you almost fell in!? I've been thinkin a lot about that spring, and how well we got on!. Money's very tight at the moment, but as soon as I've got enough I'll be sure to visit you!. I can't wait to hear about all the challenges you've faced on the other side of the world!. How do they respond to your bright red hair!?

I know you're busy, but I hope you get a chance to write soon and let me know how you're doing!. I always enjoy hearing from you!.

Yours, with love,

Stewart

As you can see, at the end I've written a short sign-off and then put my name!.

I hope that's given you some ideas!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should start with the words, like 'Hi, Hello, how are you'!.!.!.!. etc!. say that you miss her and what to be with her that to wish her happy birthday in real life!.!.!.!. write what you wish her: happiness, find her love, health, success, to have good mood this day and everyday, etc!.!.!.!.!.!. also write about your life and everything what you will tell her if she will be with you at this moment!.!.!.!. in the end ask her that she'll write you how she spent her birthday and ask to write you back!.!.!.!. Don't forget to say Happy birthday one more time in the end of letter!.!.!.
I need to add that there are no rules for writing letter to friends, it's not a formal letter!.!.!.!.
Send her cost-card too or write some poem in your letter, if you'll adorn your letter with some pictures, which you'll draw by yourself, I'm sure your friend will like it very much!.!.!.

1!. Okay well, to start the letter you need a greeting!. Something like:
-Dear!.!.!.
-To!.!.!.
-Hello!
2!. Then, I would wish her/him a happy birthday!. You could ask what presents they got, how they are going to celebrate etc!.
3!. Then ask how they are doing, how their job/school is going etc!. Make references to anything you know about them, like their friends or interests!.
4!. Then say a little about what has been going in your life!. Anything interesting that happened to you that would interest your friend!.
5!. Finish off with a nice Goodbye and another Happy Birthday!.

If you follow those steps, your letter should be excellent!. And remember, this person is your friend, they won't care if your english is bad, they will be glad that you remembered their birthday!.

Feel free to e-mail me your letter at therealjuliet@yahoo!.com!.au and I can read it and check it for grammatical and spelling errors!.

Hope I helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com
