You have to answer a lot and have at least 10% best answer percentage!.

I feel like I shouldn't answer this, because I'm not a TC at the moment!. I was up until a few days ago, though!. It really doesn't take long to get Top Contributor status - it's updated every week!. It just depends on how many questions you answer (and how many best answers you get) in a certain category within X number of days!. If you want to know, though, I was a member of Y!A for a loonnng time before I got TC status, probably because only in the past few months have I mostly stayed in Books & Authors rather than jumped around in 8 different categories!. =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I had it once before and lost it and then recently regained the status!. Not sure what the requirements are but I know it has to do with the number of questions you answer on a particular subject, and fairly certain it has to do with this number of best answers you receive well!. Don't remember the exact time frame but it was around a month or so!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It took me about four to six weeks, but when I first came on I answered everything I could!. I was like a kid in a candy store!. I wouldn't bother with a lot of those questions now!. I mean, back then I merrily did people's homework for them!.

It really doesn't have anything to do with the quality of your answers!. It's all about concentrating in one category and answering quite a bit!. You can post one stupid link over and over, or live your life to sneer at Twihards and never say anything worth looking at and you'll still end up with the TC badge eventually, especially if you're someone who votes for yourself regularly!.

I wouldn't worry about it, just give good answers when and where you can and you'll have one soon enough!. The best TC's are the ones who don't take themselves too seriously!.

Oh, and Aki F!.!? You can't get it back in three days!. Yahoo! calculates it once a week!. Even you aren't so special that an exception will be made to that rule!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For a time, i was only answering in the Books and Authors section!. I was only level two and had only been a member of Y!A for a month and a half when a Top Contributor icon appeared!. I think it was because my 'best answers' was at 20%!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think I got mine in about two months, during a stretch when I was not feeling well and spent way too much time online!. Now I stop in periodically during a typical day, but I no longer spend hours!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
