I know there is a biography on him, I was wondering if he himself ever wrote a book, I have to do a book report for my gr!. 9 english class and I am a huge fan of the doors and Morrison's poems!. He had a lot to say about our world and I'd be interested in reading his stuff if he had any!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To sorta summarize the others, Jim had three poetry books, The Lords and New Creatures (once two separate books, but combined to one now) Wilderness, and The American Night!. Jim did not write Riders on the Storm, that was John the drummer from the band, you could say that Jim and John had almost opposite personalities (in some aspects, not all of course) so everything from that book is all what John thinks!. There are no published books that were written by Jim, and it is unknown if he ever wrote a book!. However, if you are still looking for something to use as a story you could try "The Hitchhiker" from American Night!. It's a screen play of some sorts but tells a story with a lot of the things needed for writing on in a report (character, scene, etc)
Other than that I can not really think of anything that would be sufficient for the book report, I mean there are tons of interesting interviews and poems but not necessarily something that you can write a report on!. I don't know about your class rules regarding picking topics but you may want to read The Hitchhiker and see if you like it, then if you want you can ask your teacher, usually if they see you really are interested in your topic they will let you choose something that isn't too conventional (don't become too attached to your topic though, you will then be accused of plagiarism because you are caring about knowledge of your topic, sorry for the bitterness but I will never get over that and like to complain about it)

The Lords and the New Creatures is a book of poetry by Jim Morrison, and An American Prayer is a CD by The Doors!. The only thing close to a regular book I know by Jim is Riders on the Storm, which is an audio book!. You can find all of these on Amazon dot com!.
