Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
I haven't read all of them, but of the ones I have here is my opinion:
Favorites:
Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
David Copperfield by Charles Dickens

All good stories!. Monte Cristo is very long and full of sub plots, watching them all come together in the end is amazing!. Pride and Prejudice is a good love story without being sappy and cutesy - I'm not a person who likes reading love stories (unless they're subplots within other stories) but I really liked P&P!. David Copperfield is a great adventure, a lot happens both good and bad and it's really a fun read!.

Of the rest of the selections I've only read, Fountainhead by Ayn Rand,
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens!.
In my personal opinion The Fountainhead isn't worth reading!. It irritated me that it was a poorly disguised attempt at Rand furthering her ridiculous philosophy of "Objectivism!." The philosophy is silly and impossible, and so I cannot appreciate the story because without the philosophy the story falls apart!.
Great Expectations however is certainly worth reading!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

East of Eden!. You honestly can't go wrong with John Steinbeck and I think this is his masterwork, much better then Grapes of Wrath!.

Slaughterhouse-5, Vonnegut is always a wild ride, although at this point his works no longer seem current!. He's still one of the best authors of the Cold War!.

Great Expectations!. Everyone should read a least one epic Dickens novel to see whether they're going to love him or hate him!.

You really can't go wrong with this list!.
I almost didn't answer because of that,
but then I just felt like it!

First 3 (in no particular order)
Slaughterhouse-5
Grapes of Wrath
War & Peace

Second 3
East of Eden
The Fountainhead
Pride & Prejudice

Third 3

Just read them all, all in good time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If I were you I wouldn't read all the best books first, or you might be left with not much to hope for!. You would probably enjoy Charles Dickens and Leo Tolstoy the most out of that list!. A lot of people are fans of Count of Monte Cristo as well!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
