I've never read the book but if you're interested in it then go for it!. You'd be surprised what you can read when you're interested in the subject, even if you don't always completely understand it!. I read the Red Badge of Courage when I was your age (not sure the intended audience but seriously doubt you'd find in the young adult section) so most people thought it would be over my head, but I got through it fine!.

Worse thing that will happens is you start reading it and decide you don't like it or that it's a little too much for you and you don't finish it!. So if you're not sure I'd suggest checking out from the library first, and then if you like and decide you want your own copy you can go pick up a copy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its an amazing book and you will love it!. It's not hard to read at all!. It's a very good book!.
