Question: If you like pirates(or are just good with creative thinking)!.!.!.!.can you help me out!?
Okay, I'm writing a story!.!.!.and it's actually a sequel to another that I've written!.!.!.!.and unfortunately, this one isn't really being written as!.!.!.fluently!? should I say, as the first one!.!.!.as in, I keep having writer's block!.!.!.I mean I have the idea in my head!.!.!.the general idea!.!.!.!.but now what I need!.!.!.is a reason for the things to be happening!.!.!.
I'm going to try to be as vague as possible while still being specific enough to get my point across!.!.
The story/ies!.!.!.are kind of about pirates!.!.!.not completely!.!.!.but it does involve them!.!.!.!.and what I need in the second one!.!.!.is a reason for a pirate captain to kidnap an ex-pirate!.!.!.I'm avoiding curses at all costs(I don't want my stories to be that similar to Pirates of the Caribbean) and the other things I was thinking are revenge (but why!?) or maybe an unsettled debt of some sort!.!.!.like the ex-pirate needed a huge favor of some sort!.!.!.!.and now the new one is coming back for his payment so to speak!.!.!.
so if any of you have any ideas!.!.!.I'd REALLY appreciate them!.!.these stories mean a lot to me!.!.!.and I'd hate to stop writing because I can't think of one little detail!.!.!.(not that I'd actually be able to stop writing!.!.!.it'd just make it way more difficult)Www@QuestionHome@Com

How about something to do with treasure!? Either he kidnaps the ex-pirate because he wants revenge because the ex-pirate stole treasure from him, or the ex-pirate knows where some treasure is buried!. Like he has a map to it or something!.
If it's not about treasure, it's usually about women!. So maybe this ex-pirate fell in love with a woman the pirate captain loved too!. Or the pirate captain is looking for a particular woman (long lost daughter, maybe!?) and the ex-pirate knows where she is!.

Looking at the additional details!.!.!. If the ex-pirate used to be a captain, I would say that he know information about something like a sunken treasure or a fountain of youth or the city of Atlantis!. The fact that he knows this information allows you to be able to keep him alive for as long as you want in the story, but as soon as he tells what he knows, the other pirate would be able to kill him!. Of course the ex-pirate never expected to be found, because he never told anyone (or maybe just one person) that he knew where the sunken treasure/fountain of youth/city of Atlantis was!.
This is what I would do if I were writing it!. And I have tried writing a pirate story!.!.!. I just couldn't get the characters to come out right!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I have a couple ideas one being that the Captain kidnaps the ex-pirite to get a bounty that is on his head!.
Another would be to stop him from giving out information on him!.

I don't know much about pirates but if you're looking for an idea for the kiddnapping, why not have the pirate kidnap his little brother!. But he can't tell anyone that they're brothers including the younger brother!.
The older brother disappeared when the younger was still really little and only has vague memories of his older brother and doesn't know why his older brother left!. This would help create a conflict between the two!. You could also have it where the older brother has always kept tabs on his younger brother and has found out about a plot to kill him, so he kidnaps him to keep him safe, but knows that if anyone finds out that they're brothers they could both be in danger!.

perhaps the ex-pirate is living really recklessly and has been leaking secrets about the captain!. and he has to kidnap the ex pirate so that his most notorious secret can not be unveiled!.!.!. i don't really know any idea what said secret could be but it could be about like!.!.!. maybe that he has a special map that shows to route of all the cargo ship that hold really good 'booty' lol that would only work it is was fantasy though!.!.!.

The Ex-pirate could have been bound to stay on the ship and by leaving have broken a bond of loyalty!. He could have stolen the pirate captain's wife or treasure and now be making a new life for himself from his ill gotten gains!. Or he could have attempted to take over the ship and become captain himself!. The ex-pirate could have been rescued by the captain they could have been friends and the captain could have sacrificed an other man to the hang man's noose for charges of piracy and treason!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
