MacHale's Pendragon series, I believe this is about a teenage boy who is a time traveller ( to places such as King Arthurs time) The Colour of Magic, Terry Pratchett, (About a boy and his wizard guide) if you are into adult books perhaps Stephen King!.!.he is fairly easy to read and I read many of his books around 13!.
