Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
There actually are blurb writers and I thank God for them!. I suck at writing blurbs!.
This is how it works with my publisher!. Your mileage may vary:
I give my attempt at a blurb to my editor!.
She turns it over to this ink-stained angel and turns it into something that will entice people to buy my books!. Sheer genius!.

It's half writing/half marketing and requires a deft touch!.

I don't think that's *all* she does!. I think she might actually be a copyeditor, too!. Whatever she is, I'm grateful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not positive but I think the author does!. I you have to give a brief synopsis of your book when you submit a query letter to potential publishers and editors so it would make sense that they would do something similar for the book cover!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They are called "blurbs", actually, and publishers get them from many sources, depending on their practices and policies, such as advertising department copywriters, other authors, reviewers, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
