Is this fiction!? If it is, you don't have to limit yourself to finding something like an actual small town to suit your story!. It is actually preferred that you make up your own!. There are always going to be stories based in big cities like Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles but stories centered in small towns can be made up to suit your purpose!. If you notice in a lot of books, there's a disclaimer up front that states the people and places are fictional and any resemblance to actual people and places are coincidental!. If you do use an actual town, be prepared to do research and get the facts right!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Coal Grove, Ohio!.

You probably can't even find it on a map it's so small!.

Their mascot is the Hornet, and the high school is in the very center of town!. It's located at the very most southern tip of Ohio, and within fifteen minutes of Kentucky and West Virgina!. Population around 2,087 (wiki)!. It links Kentucky by two very obnoxious bridges, one blue and one green!. Basically, it has one stop sign and is only about two square miles!. Most people are Caucasian!. One of the schoolhouses was thought to have been visited by two presidents!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think I know your problem!. I've been there!.

I took the name of my very small town in Scotland (Bishopbriggs) and altered it!.

Firstly, I broke it down!. It's Bishop and Briggs!.

"Hey!" I said!. "Bishop is a chess piece! Let's change you to a Pawn!. Briggs is just like bridge!. Let's swap you in there!.!.!."

Now I have a fictional town called Pawnbridge! When I describe it, I think of the village I'm in and describe that instead!.

If you can't think of any way to alter your town name, post it on here!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Grand Saline Texas!. Population 400 including the cattle!. My grandparents lived there!. it had no actual stop lights but 2 car dealerships, a high school and a piggly wiggly (grocery store)!. IT was hot, dry flat and boring!.!.!.oh and it had scorpions everywhere!. Fun summers let me tell you! Not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do you have a ROAD ATLAS!?!.!.!. then look in the cities and towns listing and it will tell you the population of the town!.!.!. ANY town!.!.!. in the AtlasWww@QuestionHome@Com

Why don't you just make up a name!?

That's what I tend to do!. If I'm not positive I'll describe the locale well enough, I either leave it nameless or make up a city!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
