Personally i i hope this is not true!.!.!.!.these are classics and a lot of them are my favorite!.!.!.!.its really stupid!. Take Catcher in the rye!.!.!.!. when it was banned, parents hated Holden's being a poor role model, encouragement of rebellion, and promotion of drinking, smoking, lying, and promiscuity!. Often, the challengers have been unfamiliar with the plot itself!. these parents are being just like Holden !.!.!. They are trying to be catchers in the rye trying to hold on to innocence when they just cant!. Maybe she should read the books before banning them

this is just a rumor!.

the *democrats* thinks this is a way to make people vote for them, to make this ubsurd rumor!.

who would ban books!?!?
seiriousely, its all fake!.

(not taking sides!. My family is neither side!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have to say this: What the f*** is her problem!?

These are some of the all-times classics that she's trying to put away - and for what!? "Inappropraite language"!. Oh, give me a break!.

Look, if parents don't want their children to read certain books, they should get more involved in their kid's lives and find out what exactly they get interested in!. Let them take control!. So what if the books have a punch in truth!. Should we silence the creativity of novelist because of this!? No!

As a Democrat, I should be jumping for joy!. I think this VP pick has cost McCain the election!. However, if by a strange twist of fate he does win, I don't want her inexperienced self coming 10 feet in front the White House!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, she also doesn't believe that humans contribute to global warming and she doesn't believe the polar bear should be put on an endangered species list!.

I doubt that this is true, no matter how many rigidly conservative politicians there are we are thankfully past any age where the banning of books could be possible!. Now, the banning of certain books in schools may still be an issue!.!.!. ugh!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Where did you get the list!?

If if it wasn't a rumor, she wouldn't be able to without making SERIOUS amendments to the bill of rights, which states, in the first amendment, that the People of America have a right to freedom of speech, press, religion, and right to gathering in conference (something like that)!. She'd also have to get the law passed by the senate, which is primarily democrats nowadays, so she would never be able to pass it!.

She probably doesn't want to ban the books!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

note: there’s some buzz being generated that says that this post contains a comment that lists the books that Palin supposedly wanted banned!. The list is here, but there appears to be no truth to the claim made by the commenter, and no further documentation or support for this has turned up!.

You for got to add the NOTE when you copied and pasted from that website!.

Its a made up list from Palin's mayor rival John Stien!.If she wanted to bann books why does she have a 80+ approval rating in the state!. also if you go on Wasilla's hometown paper's website you will see she has the support of the town!. No mention of banning books there either!. People need to stop being SHEEPEOPLE and look stuff up!. Do some legg work and stop beleiving CNN, MSNBC,and FOX!. LOOK STUFF UP !!!!

OMG! How can she just ban these wonderful books!!!!!!! Is she like trying to rip the imagination from future generations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ugh!.!.!.
I really hope this isn't true!. Most of these books are like my favourites! Www@QuestionHome@Com

looking at this list I was amazed!. The fact that she wants to ban the established works of Rowling, lee, dahl and even Shakespeare shows how bad and unrealistic her and McCain are!.
Just shows that u americans MUST elect ObamaWww@QuestionHome@Com

I sure hope this isn't true! Some of those books are my favorites! It's so odd that Sarah Palins become so famous in a few days!.!.!.!.!.!. my dad went to high school with her! ( I live in Wasilla)!.

Gah, I think banning books is stupid--especially banning classics!. People should be banning crap like Twilight!.

I still am not sure if this article is true though!.!.!.!.!.!.

EDIT: Yeah, this isn't true!.!.!.!.!.!.I would have heard of it by now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That is CRAZY! Are you sure this is true!? If it is, there is no way McCain will win his election
-LivvyWww@QuestionHome@Com

well, i think they have banned books before in history!. it's usually a group of people that protest to ban the books, and thus cannot be use in school!. i don't think most of the books mentioned should be banned!. they are perfectly fine!.!.!.and it's totally crazy sounding!. most of the books are classic, and they shouldn't be banned for goodness sakes!. but i don't think they are really actually banning them!. maybe for school use, but it can still be borrowed in the libraryWww@QuestionHome@Com

It's little more than Democratic propaganda to appease the book loving masses out there!.

It isn't true!. Sarah Palin isn't an extremist!. She has good morals, but, even if she did believe this, she wouldn't be able to impose these!. It'd have to go through the Supreme Court, and anyone in the Supreme Court with a decent brain wouldn't ban these books!.

Banning books is so stupid anyway!. The purpose of writing is to express thoughts otherwise considered too out there in a public setting!. An author always puts a piece of his or her beliefs in any writing he or she does!.

Books that spark controversy are probably the best books of all because it makes you realize how stupid people are, and how easily offended people can get!. It's a book, for crying out loud! Although the author probably belives it, it's a book! Keep your morals to yourself, and I'll keep mine lodged in my brain!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is completely untrue! Who puts rumors like this out there!? And spreading it around isn't helping at all!. It just feeds the trolls!.

No one is banning books, people! Good grief!. Think a little bit, please!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

rumor or not, its wrong to tell people what they should or should not be exposed to!.!.!. if true, she needs to get of the high horse she deemed herself worthy of being put on!.!.!. i've read 30 of these books and i am all the more enriched for doing so!.!.!.

why stop with these!?!?!?

stephen king and dean koontz deal with "supernatural" occurances and people, naughty words, explicit scenarios, etc so all their work should go!.!.!.

roald dahl was sick for writing about a chocolate factory operated by little people, flying glass elevators, lifesize bugs, etc!.!.!. god forbid our children be encouraged to use their imaginations!.!.!.

michael crichton believes dinosaurs can walk the earth, what a load of BS!.!.!.

hg wells actually thinks science and progress can further the human spirit!.!.!. bad, hg, bad!!!

tolkien, lewis, carroll, goodkind, and others like them are so delusional that they created other realms full of nasty little things like wizards and hobbits, talking rabbits, and such!.!.!. call the men in the white coats, we've got psychopaths running amok in our cities!!!

the list can go on indefinitely!.!.!. books are books, they themselves are guilty only of giving us as readers the power to belive what cannot be seen, enjoy what we would otherwise miss out on, and embark on a voyage to the depths of our souls that would remain unknown to our hearts if not for the magic that lay within the confines of the written word!.!.!.

books are who we are, not some two-bit politician who believes in controlling what they themselves may not understand!.
