People seriously think Twilight will be considered a classic!? An honest-to-God, studying-it-in-school, please-read-chapter-ten-by-next-lesson CLASSIC!?!? Oh dear!.

A lot of classics did not become at all well known until long after they were published!. The classics of the future are probably not the series' that everyone has heard of, but the books a lot of people walk past without looking twice at but which are actually brilliantly written, which people will notice more as time goes on!. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak!.
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini!.
The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger!.
Life of Pi by Yann Martel!.
Atonement by Ian McEwan (I think it's 21st C!)
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd!.
