Do you mean in Peace Like A River!?

My take on all of that was that he is God himself, or at least a peace of him!. He performs miracles, heals, and represents faith!. He is a kind of moral compass, being wise and as doing what would be considered right ethically!. As a father he does the best that he can, though he is not really the father that would be considered the best friend!. He is more like a care giver and mentor, but not exactly the type of dad that would go out and play fetch!. He does love his children, as he does give his life for Reuben at the end of the novel!. I think love is his weakness, as he does fall in love with Roxanna and this (in my eyes) complicated things with his children!. also, he does give his life for Rueben!. Great book by the way!Www@QuestionHome@Com
