Bella is always like, "I like Edward, now I like Jacob, now I like Edward, now I like Jacob!." Why doesn't she just pick one!? Is it just me, or is Bella messed!? In 'Eclipse', when she "escapes," why is she holding hands with Jacob!? She says that they're "just friends," but she knows that Jacob doesn't feel that way about her!. Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Personally i think it is because she likes Jacob but she knows that if she chooses Edward then she might break her relationship with Jacob and the other way around so that is my theory why she didn't just chose one or the other! All of the answers to your questions are: Bella is messed up!. Anyway, she chooses Edward but not before dragging both guys--and the readers--through the mud a few hundred times!. Shallow much!? She thrives off of this attention and drama!. Why does she mess with Jacob even though she knows he wants more from her!? Because she loves to be the center of attention! She was trying to cover up that darn hole she kept complaining about in New Moon and then feels so guilty, then she kisses Jacob--well, he forces himself on her--and she not only enjoys it, she realizes she "loves" him!.
