Question: What books do you recommend!.!.!.!?
I'm heading to Thailand soon for several months, then I plan to travel more broadly!. I'd like to read modern Western classics (Nabokov, Joyce, etc!.) to improve my general literary competence!. My favorite books are:

Nicomachean Ethics (Aristotle)
The Unbearable Lightness of Being (Milan Kundera)
Dream Novel (Arthur Schnitzler)
Thus Spoke Zarathustra (Nietzsche)
A Farewell to Arms (Hemingway)

Any suggestions!? Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should definitely read Lolita if you're interested in Nabokov!. How about some Tolstoy or Faulkner!? If you haven't already read it, I would suggest the Sound and the Fury!.

Have a great trip to Thailand! I'm jealous! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

For a slightly more alt!.modern classic lit, you might want to read "The Gormenghast Trilogy" by Mervin Peake!. The books are: "Titus Groan,"
"Gormenghast, " and "Titus Alone!." Peake never finished the entire series!. He died in a mental institute!.

also try "Omeros" by Dennis Wallcot!. It's a Caribbean take on "The Odyssey Www@QuestionHome@Com
