Totally a personal choice based on your life experience - hard to be objective!. also depends on when in your life you read said novel!.

Having said all of that, for me personally it would be between Catcher in the Rye - J!.D!. Salinger and Dead Souls - Nikolai Gogol!.

Fyodor Dostoyevsky changed the course of modern literature with his novel, Crime and Punishment!. I have read many of the books mentioned and enjoyed them but they do not qualify as great literature!. This one does!. It has stood the test of time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
