I can't remember the title of a book I read when I was little.?

Question: I can't remember the title of a book I read when I was little!.!?

The book was about three cats, and I think they were "alley" cats and they were trying to escape!? I thought the book was titled something like "The Great Escape" but I can't seem to find it!. I remember what the cover looked like, it had three gray cats on it and I think it was raining and there was a trash can!.
