Question: What,in your opinion,is the greatest book you have ever read!?
Why!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Fahrenheit 451!. It's probably one of the most important books ever written because it emphasizes the three most dangerous things in society: ignorance, indifference, and censorship!. It's also beautifully written and relentlessly compelling!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's a tough one because books cover so many genres!. I'm assuming you don't want a religious answer, so I won't say the Bible or Koran (please forgive if I've misspelled) or Torah!.
I'd have to say either 1984 by George Orwell - an interesting story set in a brilliantly devised future gone mad!.
OR
Mythago Wood by Robert Holdstock - if you're a fan of fantasy stories (without a Dungeons and Dragons kind of atmosphere), you really should read this book!. The only downside to Mythago Wood is the author's decision to write follow-up books!. I haven't read the entire series yet, but the original story probably should have stood alone!.

The Most greatest, most authentic, most read book in the world, the book in which for a thousand years there is not a single change in a word!.
The Glorious Qur’an is the last and final revelation of Almighty God which was revealed for the whole of humanity!.
The Holy Quran is the most and the must book you need to read!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Steppenwolf - my reasons are many, however the tragic shadow-character is compelling, and the "between the cracks" life he leads is both truly sorrowful, and ultimately arrogant of purpose!. Herman Hesse, although writing in a time of looming war and destruction, paints a rare and quite delicate picture of the world of 'Steppenwolfs' in all cultures and times!. I hope you read it with an eye to the times within which it was written!. Enjoy!.
P!.S!. "Siddartha", by the same author was also a revelation for some of us!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would say the Bible but I haven't read it in its entirety yet although it is a very interesting piece of history and aide in this life!.!.!.

But so far, I'll have to say the greatest book that I have ever read was A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini!. I no longer see the world in the same way after completing that reading!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Bible! I know, the Christian is answering!.!.!.but it's full of transformative information, really awesome old testament stories (Jael drives a tent post through a general's head! How cool is that!?), and you're always discovering new things in it!. Plus, it has influenced our language, expressions, and many many books that followed!.

Aside from the Bible, though, I thoroughly love "The Princess Bride" for being even better than the already awesome movie!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Oh that is so tough!. I would say George R!.R!. Martin's A song of Ice and Fire series!. It has everything, set in a different world, great characters!. It's so rich full of everything you could ever want in a book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The face on the milk carton and it's sequels!.!.!. The last books I read that I didn't have to read for a class!. I was in junior high!. Well i've been reading Wicked for over a year but i'm nowhere near done and it's kinda strange so it's taking a whileWww@QuestionHome@Com

The Princess Bride, because it has fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, and miracles!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
