Question: My daughter is 13 and would like to publish a book!. Does anyone know any good publishers for my teenager!?
They should allow teenagers to publish their books, so please do not suggest publishers that do not allow teenage writers!. also do not write rude comments as this is for my daughter Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would recommend looking up publishers that have published teenage writers in the past; some publishers will flat refuse to look at young writers' works, as they think they're immature, while others love fresh talent!. It would also help to make sure that the publisher works in the same genre as the novel your daughter has written!. No matter how teen-friendly, a publisher of sci-fi books won't be much help to someone who sends in a Victorian romance!.

also, you shouldn't even be looking at publishers before you find an agent!. Agents only help you to find an appropriate publisher, they can also contact those publishers to help pitch your daughter's book, ensure that the book isn't just lost in the slush pile, and make sure that a publisher doesn't try to cheat you when signing a contract!. The publishing industry is kind of like a jungle, with a whole bunch of vines to push through; rather than pushing through them yourself, having an agent is like having a detailed map and a machete!.

To find an agent, find some books at the library or at the local book store that list agents!. Some agents are crooks, true, but there are groups out there that'll meticulously track down the good agents and list them!. If you'd like, you can try contacting some of your daughter's favorite authors (particularly if they write in the same genre as the book that she's written) and ask them if they would mind helping a young author, by suggesting an agent she might get in contact with--or even an editor!.

also, if her book is either sci-fi or fantasy, it might be a good idea to get in contact with the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America (www!.sfwa!.org)!. They're a great support group for any beginning writers!.

I hope that helps!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If she's really intent on getting published, you'll both need to know a lot about the business!. Publishing isn't a magical process in which you send in a manuscript and get a book deal the next day!. It's not that easy!. Consider getting an agent!. Buy a copy of Writer's Market!.

I wish you and your child the best, but remember that getting a thirteen year old's book published is hard!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
