Mr Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanne Clarke - I have nearly finished it and yes its not bad!. I have loads of books to read that people have recommended and I like to pass on some that I have also read and enjoyed!.

I am all for people reading a book!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Starter for 10!. Recommended by Richard and Judy!. It was the worst book I that have ever read!. Richard and Judy you can get stuffed!. They even thanked me for it at the library when I donated it!. It is enough to put anybody off reading!.

What a waste of money!.

Before that it was The ragged trousered philanthropist!. That book changed my life, for the better, by a considerable degree!.

Before that it was Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance!. That was a very enjoyable journey!.

Those are the books that I've had recommended!. I read many dozens of books, of my own choosing, each year!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The last book I was recommended was A Thousand Splendid Suns!. I'd seen it in book shops before but was put off by the setting (Afghanistan at war) thinking it probably wasn't something I'd enjoy!. Surprisingly it was a really good story and very easy to read and I've since recommended it to some friends!.

People don't normally recommend books to me because usually they read from genres that don't interest me (chick lit, biographies/abuse and fluff)!. It's not that I'm a book snob, I just like really well written characters and stories!. I'm always happy and grateful to hear any recommendations though, it can be a good way to read things you might not ordinarily notice, but it has to be something special!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins!.
I found it very entertaining and immensely readable for a non-fiction work!. I find that if you get recommendations from intelligent people who you respect you can usually expect good things!. The only time I'm cautious about accepting recommendations is when they're specifically about someone elses area of interest!. Reading a book on King Henry VIII recommended by an English history major may find you wading through hundreds of pages of details only an English history major would love!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

'The Unbearable Lightness of Being'!.
A friend of mine read it and talked to me about it!.
There’s a movie based on the novel that goes with the same name, but I guess it’s always better to read the book!.
I’ve been reading ‘Creation’, by Gore Vidal, witch is great but no better and The Unbearable Lightness!.
I hardly ever follow other people’s recommendation because almost no body likes the classical book!. People always prefer the new authors!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The last book recommended to me was Bitten by Kelley Armstrong!.!.!. Actually, it was the whole series that was recommended to me as I love paranormal/supernatural characters and themes to books with a little action, adventure and romance rolled in!. I'm a fantasy/SciFi fan so I normally find the mythical/fantasy/paranormal creature thing appealing!.

I've really liked the series, but the recommendation came as a joke!. In one of the books, Armstrong mentions my home town as a place where Elena stops to get a coffee on her way home!.!.!. To see that mentioned in a book (because it's not a town of any real size or repute!) was motivation enough for me to start reading!. Good thing I liked the series!

Good luck and happy reading!Www@QuestionHome@Com

People don't usually recommend books to me because I read odd stuff compared to my friends, most of whom don't read and one who really just reads romance and suspense!.

I was physically handed Birth of a Venus and told to read it by a woman I used to work with and was really fascinated by it!. I don't do historical fiction (Richard Matheson, Chuck Palahniuk, Carl Hiassen and Truman Capote are some of my favorite authors, as a point of reference!) but this book was well written, not overly flowery and I really just enjoyed it!

My sister recommended Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next series to me which I enjoyed a great deal!. She has also got me into Connie Willis's stuff!.

Sometimes I like books that other people recommend to me, other times I don't!. However, I almost always love the books my sister recommends because our tastes are so similar!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Someone recommended to me Beautiful Boy by David Sheff and it was really awesome its about a father and his son who has an addiction!. i am really interested in addiction story's as addiction runs in my family!. I also loved A million Little Pieces by James Fry even after the whole Oprah fiasco hope this helped a little!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It was The neverending story by Michael Ende!.It was really great!.I love it!.The story also reminds me a movie,Mirror!. As for your last question, they don't recommend me many book, but when they did i first read the summary and if i like it i buy it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
