What is a modern and interesting book to read?

Question: What is a modern and interesting book to read!?

I'm an avid reader, and I'm looking for something else to read!.
I'm really interested in books that are set in other parts of the world (Like "The Namesake", "The Kite-Runner", etc) Could you reccommend me one!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

This doesn't take place somewhere foreign, but I think that you'd really like Running With Scissors by Augusten Burroughs!. There are many inappropriate parts to the book (and I *mean* inappropriate), but based on the two books that you mentioned here (which are great, by the way), you could definately handle it without being scarred for live!. Plus, Running With Scissors is freaking hilarious!

If you liked the Kite Runner, I think you'd like The Poisonwood bible by barbara Kingsolver!. It's one of my favorite books!. It takes place in Africa,while Nathan Price and his family are on a missionary trip!. It is written in the perspectives of 5 different women ( a mother and her four daughters) but it's not confusing like some other books that are multiple views!. The characters are interesting, and it's a very intelligent book that makes you think about life and people, and hopefully see things in a new way!.

White Oleander isn't set anywhere special, but that is also a good book that is written beautifully and is full of realistic, interesting characters!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your request is kind of specific!. You could try The Secret Life of Bees, but its set in the southern US during segregation, or The House of the Scorpion, but it's young adult SciFi!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
