Are you talking about the play by Robert Bolt!? I'll admit I've only skimmed through the entire play, not reading every word (which isn't fair to the play)!. However, I did watch the movie version with Paul Scofield - who was also in the original play!.

From what I read, and saw, I would say the point is that almost everyone has a price!. A man of conscience, who lives by that conscience, does NOT have a price!. Sir Thomas More didn't have a price!.

Sir Thomas refused bribes, and he refused to do what Henry wanted him to do because he believed it to be wrong!. That doesn't sound, to me, like he had a price!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hmm, I don't think Thomas More has his price--if he did, wouldn't he have done what the king wanted instead of going to his death!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
